ENGRAVED CELTIC CROSS ON SLATE

This piece of reclaimed Delabole slate, originally from the famous slate quarry of Delabole in Cornwall, will have spent about 200 years on a roof before being re-created in this way. The ageing process on Delabole slate brings out lovely colours and features not seen in the fresh-cut slates.

A Celtic Cross was hand-drawn and hand-engraved into this shaped section of beautifully patterned reclaimed Delabole Slate. (23cm x 13cm approx)

The engraving was then in-filled with silver paint; then the whole was rubbed down to reveal the beautiful colours and patterns of the original slate.

Finished with a translucent seal, leather hanging-loop and felt-pads on the back to protect the wall, this Celtic Cross Wall Plaque is a unique and unusual gift
